Loan Affordability Calculator

Calculate the cost of a mortgage, car loan or personal loan and see how it may fit your monthly finances.

For buying a home. The calculator includes a down payment, housing costs and a Finnish mortgage stress-test indicator.

Your monthly finances

Your household income after taxes and other payroll deductions. Use household income if the loan and expenses are shared.
Expenses that will continue after taking the loan: food, utilities, insurance, subscriptions, childcare and other normal spending. Do not include existing debt payments here. If current rent will disappear after buying a home, leave that rent out.
Monthly payments on loans and credit you already have. Do not include the new loan being calculated.
Optional. Enter readily available savings before paying the down payment. This lets the calculator estimate the financial buffer left afterward.

Loan details

The amount you plan to pay yourself rather than finance with the mortgage.
Optional. Costs caused by the new home in addition to the mortgage, such as maintenance charges, insurance or other ongoing housing costs. Avoid entering costs already included in your ongoing monthly expenses.
Enter the nominal annual interest rate offered by the lender.
Optional one-time fee charged for arranging the loan.
Optional recurring account, invoicing or servicing fee.
